I am so glad my old pressure washer died as having reviewed what is available now I bought a Karcher machine and was delighted to discover that they make a patio cleaner which incidentally is compatible with all their Karcher pressure washers. (Older models need an adapter I believe).
I have cleaned a large patio area with no bother at all in a fraction of the time I used to take with my old pressure washer without an attachment. No splashback and a good even effect on the cleaned tiles ... it is just like using a floor polisher. It hovers and you could do the whole job one handed if you had a mind to!
I lifted up the cleaner before I moved onto a new area to spray jets of water over the next area to remove debris, then cleaned the tiles and lifted the cleaner again to wash over the area to check the tile was as clean as I wanted. You can avoid the grouting inbetween slabs and so minimise causing the damage often caused by using just a pressure washer without this attachment.
It advises that you can clean stonework/walls with the attachment, and sure enough, all the green 'gunk' came off the bricks without causing any damage.
The price of this gadget varies a lot, so it's worth choosing your supplier carefully.
Also by buying this attachment you acquire two extensions to your pressure washer, so can clean higher up with your brush if you have a van!
